South Shore Artistic & Creative Practice
Development Program
Program Overview:
South Shore Arts, in partnership with Hammond Development Corporation and IronWorkz, will facilitate a cohort of 12 creative individuals to participate in a 8-month accelerator-like program. Each participant will receive free personal studio space and trainings on subjects like marketing, bookkeeping, and writing a business plan. The cohort’s culminating event will be the planning, coordinating, creating and delivering of a public art display for the community.

Our program is designed to empower artists and creative professionals in Northwest Indiana to transform their passions into thriving businesses. By combining the expertise of South Shore Arts, Ironworkz Corporation, and Hammond Development Corporation, we offer a comprehensive support system to help you succeed.

What to Expect

Business Foundations: Develop a strong entrepreneurial mindset and learn essential business skills through Ironworkz's training.

Entrepreneurial Training: Gain in-depth knowledge of business planning, marketing, finance, and legal aspects through Hammond Development Corporation's courses.

Practical Experience: Apply your learning through real-world projects, including collaborative events and a public art installation.

Mentorship and Support: Benefit from one-on-one coaching and guidance from industry experts.

Workspace: Enjoy free studio or office space at Substation no.9 Art Center or Hammond Development Corporation.

Public Art Exhibits: Participants will create and participate in 3 exhibits during the course of the program.

Evening Classes: Participants will attend afternoon sessions located in Hammond, Indiana.
